Springtime On Our Ohio Valley Farm:

The sounds and smells of springtime can’t be mistaken here on our farm in the Ohio Valley.

The birds are singing happy tunes to show their excitement over the warmer temperatures. The lilies, crocus, tulips and daffodils are peeking out of the soil to catch a glimpse of the warm sun. The stretches from the guard dogs are getting shorter each morning before they resume their protective positions over the livestock. Visitors are becoming more frequent so they can pick out their preferred ewe or lamb that will soon be going to their new home. As the clock springs forward to give us another hour of sunlight, our life around the farm begins to take the shape of a routine that’s familiar and comforting.

Nearby the unmistakable sound of the milling equipment whirrs to signal the start of the day at the Fiber Mill while the staff hustles throughout the production floor to fulfill fiber orders that are in varying stages of processing.

The flurry of activity may be misconstrued to some as chaotic. However, to us, the activity brings joy. The joy that comes with springtime here at Ohio Valley Farm and Fiber Mill.

This year we are going to work harder at sharing photos of the life that happens on our farm and the fiber that’s processed within our mill. Our hope is to share our joy with you and in turn you can share some of your joy with us as well.
